*Leaving RSS Link Displayed for Visitors
It is necessary for your readers to have these RSS addresses when they would like to register your blog to RSS reader.
As far as this page is concerned, RSS reader would enable your readers to know that there has been a feed. However, it would be much more easier for each reader to find out if you could clearly display RSS of comment and trackback as in the image below.
You can leave them (three RSSs mentioned above) displayed through "RSS" in "Plugins."
What "RSS" is about? How can it be Used?
RSS is an abbreviation to "Rich Site Summary" (also known as RDF Site Summary / Really Simple Syndication), is a XML standard to provide information regarding to summaries of webpages and the like.
With regard to blogs, information concerning titles, dates of renewal, summaries of contents will be provided once new entries are being posted and comments being made. If you register this to RSS reader, RSS reader will acquire such information on regular basis so that you would not have to access each time to make sure it by yourself.
This XML information is not for you to read. Also when you open it with the browser (e.g IE6), it only shows the data, this is not an error.
As many of latest browsers have already had the function of RSS reader, you can directly register it to the browser.
Setting on RSS to be Delivered
[Environment]>[Blog Settings]>[Entry Settings/RSS]
In FC2, you can define the number of entries to be delivered through RSS apart from the number of displayed entries. Also you can define delivered entries to be seen only a portion of them. (through "Show Portion")
*Please keep it in mind that if you click on "show portion" of each entry, the number of entries sent through RSS would be subjected to the displayed number of "Latest Entries."
